An initial orthodontic consultation is recommended around the age of 7 or 8 years old to assess if there is enough space for the eruption of the permanent teeth.
We also evaluate how the teeth close together (contact between teeth). At this age, treatments are normally of short duration and are rarely invasive. An assessment at early age allows treatments with braces that are both simpler and shorter.
It happens that no treatment is necessary at this age. If this is the case, we will examine your child every year to keep track of the teeth eruption and the growth of the jaws. We can therefore intervene at the most opportune time for your child.
The first meeting, a thirty-minute appointment, aims to know your needs, your priorities and your fears toward an orthodontic treatment.
After a brief examination, we will give you an idea of the different procedures, estimated costs and duration of the treatment. At the end of the consultation, you will have all the necessary information to make your decision.
A more in-depth one-hour consultation is scheduled when you begin your treatment with us. We will use this meeting to consolidate your orthodontic file with photographs, low intensity digital x-rays and dental impression.
Once the diagnosis is established, we will confirm the treatment cost and duration.
Conventional fixed orthodontic appliances, also called “braces”, are always considered as the most efficient and versatile corrective devices in orthodontics. You can opt for stainless steel brackets or translucent ceramic brackets.
We use discreet and high-quality orthodontic brackets. This allows a treatment with little discomfort compared to traditional orthodontic brackets.
Several factors must be considered to determine the price of an orthodontic treatment. It is advisable to set an appointment to discuss the reasons why you want a treatment.
Once a treatment plan will be established, we can submit you an estimate of the costs and duration of the treatment. A monthly interest-free payment method is available to facilitate the access to orthodontic care.
In addition, orthodontic treatment-related expenses are tax-deductible and covered by some private insurance.
Invisalign is a technique for aligning the teeth using clear removable plastic “aligners”. This method applies for cases of light to moderate tooth irregularities. Resin retention buttons are placed to allow the aligners to move the teeth. Discreet and almost invisible, each aligner is worn continuously for two weeks, except while eating and tooth brushing.
Teeth are gradually moved to the desired position. The number of aligners, and consequently the duration of treatment, depends on the complexity of the teeth alignment problem. It often happens that a second series of aligners is necessary to refine the final result. Invisalign treatments are the same length as conventional treatments with braces (from 12 to 24 months).
